The Department of Paediatric Clinical Immunology and Rheumatology provides specialised care for infants, children and adolescents with autoimmune, inflammatory and musculoskeletal disorders.
The department offers comprehensive, family-centred care focused on early diagnosis, effective treatment and long-term management to minimise pain, prevent joint damage and improve quality of life.
Working closely with multiple paediatric specialties, the team provides evidence-based care tailored to the unique needs of growing children and adolescents.
Conditions Managed: Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis (JIA), Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE), Juvenile Dermatomyositis (JDM), Localised and Systemic Scleroderma, Autoinflammatory and Periodic Fever Syndromes, Vasculitis (including Kawasaki Disease and IgA Vasculitis), Reactive and Post-infectious Arthritis, Acute Rheumatic Fever and Spondyloarthritis.
Clinical Services: Comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis and long-term management of paediatric rheumatologic disorders.
Advanced Therapies: Biologic and infusion therapies, image-guided joint injections and multidisciplinary care for complex autoimmune diseases.
Multidisciplinary Care: Collaborative management with Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Ophthalmology, Dermatology, Neurology, Nephrology and Musculoskeletal Radiology.
Transition Care: Structured transition programme supporting adolescents moving to adult rheumatology services.
First Visit: Families are encouraged to bring previous medical records, laboratory reports, imaging studies and a list of current medications to facilitate a comprehensive assessment.
